NUA Guest Blog: The Dipple and Conway Hair and Makeup Show

Students currently studying on the BA (Hons) Fashion Communication Programme at Norwich University of the Arts share their experience of Norwich Fashion Week 2017.
Anita Bell attended the Dipple and Conway Hair and Make-Up Show.
Norwich Fashion Week 2017 did not disappoint this year, second night in was the second ever Hair and Make-Up show which took place at the OPEN venue in the city centre on Friday 10thMarch. The Hair and Make-Up hair show celebrated and showcased the creative collaborations and talents of hair stylists, make-up artists and designers within Norwich.
Under the direction of show co-ordinators Deb Dominic from Hairsmiths and Sam Cummings from Norwich Beauty School the theme for the night was the theatrics.
To open the show was award winning soprano singer Emma Nuule who graced the stage and sang opera classic, ‘O Mio Babbino Caro’ (Oh My Beloved Father). Followed by a soundtrack of music, composed in sync with the different looks that walked the runway.
Looks ranged from Shakespeare’s classic ‘Midsummers Night Dream’ to burlesque gone sci-fi. Talent from local hairdressers, students and make-up artists did an absolutely fantastic job, pulling off the most daring of looks and showcasing the most intricate of details. The show stopper for the night has to go to Paintopia with their amazing body painted models.
Overall an absolutely fantastic show and turn out.
