NFW16: Show Tickets on Sale in January
Six sensational shows not to be missed at Norwich Fashion Week 2016
Tickets for the six main shows to be held during Norwich Fashion Week 2016 (NFW16), which runs between 10 and 17 March will be on sale from 4 January 2016.
NFW is now in its sixth year and the 2016 event is set to be bigger and better than ever. Two new shows have been added to the core line-up, all of which will be housed within the city’s vibrant and contemporary building of OPEN, the new official home for NFW16.
As with previous years, the week will be launched with the Mercedes-Benz of Norwich Retailers Show on Thursday 10 March. This showcases the current and future fashion trends from local independents and high-street retailers, and has become a firm favourite with fashionistas across the city.
The ever-popular Vintage Show, sponsored by Zaks, returns on Sunday 13 March with a theme of ‘Spring’ for 2016. With the city famed for its vintage scene, this show captures the essence of Norwich’s vintage boutiques and styling with fashion from the 1930s through to the 1980s all featuring on the catwalk.
Those looking for the next big thing, or hoping to be inspired by home-grown talent, shouldn’t miss out on this year’s Designer’s Show, sponsored by Canaries Official and The Hippodrome Great Yarmouth. It’s being organised as a creative, circus themed spectacular to promote the very best of Norwich’s designers, tailors, milliners and stylists.
The quirky Fashion Excess Show, sponsored by Dr. Martens, also returns for 2016 to inspire those who love mixing up their style. The show fuses the latest fashion from independents, local designers and the high street to live music from up and coming local bands.
Emma Harrowing, Chair of the NFW board, said: “These four key shows have all proved to be incredibly popular in the last few years and we’re delighted to be staging them once again. But with NFW originally launched to celebrate, promote and develop the diversity of fashion and style in the city, we are continually looking to find new ways to reach and inspire even more people. We believe the addition of two new shows for this year will help us to do that.”
The first of the new shows is the Dipple & Conway Hair Show which takes place on Friday 11 March. It will highlight the wealth of hairdressing talent in the city, and the impact these stylists, colour technicians and barbers have on finishing the overall fashion look with their inspiring hair designs.
The second event added to the NFW line up is a Design and Enterprise event on Wednesday 16 March. This has been added to further strengthen the NFW aim of nurturing and educating local, fledgling designers. The all-day event, which will continue into the evening at Norwich University of the Arts, has been organised to help support up-and-coming talent in the city and to inspire them to take their designs to the next level.
Emma added: “We hope as many people as possible will join us during NFW and enjoy being a part of the city’s largest, annual fashion event. Every year the week gains more kudos and it is really helping to promote Norwich as a fashion-forward location.”
Tickets for all the above shows are available from 4 January via the box office at OPEN on www.opennorwich.org.uk or 01603 763111.
