Kylie, Latex and The British Designer
No stranger to making bold fashion statements (reference to gold hot pants) Kylie Minogue stepped on to the red carpet at last nights Brit Awards in a black latex wiggle dress by British designer William Wilde.
Those who remember Kylie from her days as a spiral permed pop princess, will know that she’s made several style choices over the years which might imply there’s more to her than the ‘sugar and spice and all things nice’ image of her early pop days. Yet once again she’s surprised and wowed many by taking a material which is often considered risqué and making it feel like wearable fashion.
Wondering how to achieve this look as we watched the ever lovely Kylie steal the Brits with her style, we recalled a recent window display in Norwich’s very own Proudlock & Harry, which featured a high waisted black latex pencil skirt and the most wonderful, show stopping oversized neck bow. So imagine our excitement when we saw Proudlock and Harry excitingly announce on Facebook that their recent latex window display was indeed by the very same designer Kylie was wearing!
Norwich say hello to William Wilde!

Clare Angel, the face behind Proudlock and Harry certainly has a keen eye for style with many brands stocked in the boutique being by independent UK designers. We’re super proud to have Proudlock and Harry showcasing during Norwich Fashion Week at The Vintage Show and Fashion Excess, but if you can’t wait, you can pop along to the shop on London Street and see the William Wilde collection plus a whole lot more. The shop really does have a special boutique feel from the moment you step through the door making it well worth a visit.
