Dr Martens Store Visit – Fashion Excess
Fashion Excess sees individual fashion showcased to a soundtrack of new emerging bands, a riot of fashion, music and creativity awaits…
“We appeal to people who have their own individual style but share a united spirit – authentic characters who stand for something”. Dr Martens
Could there be a more appropriate collaboration than that of the creative spirit of our Fashion Excess bands and this historic British brand? Both strive to make emotional connections with their audience through an empowering and captivating attitude.

The Norwich store welcomed both bands in-store to get kitted out for show night, each member painstakingly trying on numerous styles with the glee of small children in a sweet shop…
As long time wearers of Dr Martens No Holy Men leapt at the chance to add to their ever expanding collection. As headliners of the show they will be delivering their cinematic, haunting style with powerful force.
Hailing from Bury St.Edmunds expect fresh yet brooding power pop from the gentleman of Soft Fiction. I was fascinated to discover some of Soft Fiction, make a pilgrimage each year to the Dr Martens factory, to select a new pair to last throughout the year and to breathe in the atmosphere of the leather, now that is true love. Band mate Aaron on the other hand had never taken the plunge, however we are pleased to confirm we have an official convert!
Dr Martens say that with their durability, simple silhouettes and distinctive style are ideal for the unforgiving world of gigs… I happen to agree. I arrived in my 9 year old black 1460 boots…battered, worn with love and soft with the aging of time. I left with a pair of blood red 1460 boots to be worn for the first time on the night of Fashion Excess, I wonder what stories they will have to tell….
